My husband had a background check done for employment. Some things were misdemeanor convictions that happened when he was young. Some things were arrest records or investigations that were done. One particular one the HR lady had an issue with was and investigation that was done for felony child abuse(no arrest or conviction).I don't know where she got this information. At first she denied him the job but I told him to dispute it and they hired him.My question is can they deny a person a job on allegations or arrest reports that didn't result in conviction? This alleged child abuse was when my kids went out of the apartment while my husband was asleep and someone called the cops.It was investigated by detectives then dropped. Not really horrible child abuse like she thinks(although he should have been awake).I think they outsource for this background check.
