If you are in a fight that you did not start and someone assaults you, as in, punches you but you have no serious injuries can you sue them for money after pressing charges? How much could you sue for in a situation like this?

Sue for what? You said yourself that you've suffered no damages.
It's possible to sue, certainly, but if you prevail you may end up with only nominal damages.
Anyone can sue anyone else for anything. However, it costs money to sue ... and you don't have a big money case, so your attorney will likely cost more than any settlement you MIGHT receive.Quoting SaM5246
The repercussions for an assault and/or battery is for criminal charges to be filed ... the defendant, if convicted, would be sentenced to some form of punishment and/or fine, and any damages to you could also be ordered. In the case you described in your prior post, it is unlikely the matter would go to court, but you can certainly speak to the police about it. keep in mind that the bouncer and the other party you fought with will likely have a different account of the events and you might find yourself charged.
