Default Getting A Pay For Delete Agreement

I am in California and contacted a collection agency regarding an $800.00 debt, I was making arrangements to pay the debt and asked if they could submit a Universal Data Form (UDA) to the credit agencies when the debt is satisfied. The supervisor told me that they send updates (tapes) to the credit agencies once a quarter, they don’t send UDAs.

Should I accept what he said, focus on paying off the debt and try my luck with another collection agency to see if they will send a UDA for debt once i pay or settle?

Please give me any input. I already did a search and still need some help.
Or if anyone can offer verbiage or strategy for pay for deletes would also help.

I would agree only to pay the debt if the collection agency agrees to delete the entry from my report altogether. Send them a letter certified mail. If they don't agree to it, don't give them a dime.

Sending them a letter by certified mail with a request for "pay and delete" does nothing but cost you extra postage. If they accept your offer for pay and delete, what you want is written confirmation of that deal from them before you pay.
