Just type a long post only to have my browser time-out.
I'll keep this consice.
We're buying a house. Closing on the 19th of July.
The current owner rents to his mother for $800 a month, our mortgage payment will be $1100.
Our lease terminates on the 15th of August.
The mom can't move until the 6th. That's 18 days of her living in our house.
She's made requests that her son talk to us about not charging her rent for those 18 days, that WE refund the money she spent on fuel oil in the past couple months and that we buy the new lawn mower and snow blower they just purchased last year.
Now, I wouldn't mind getting ahold of the mower and blower. They're new and nice!
I'm just not sure what to do in a situation like this. Do I make up some kind of lease? Do I just haggle with them, no rent for the lawn goodies? I didn't think that the fuel oil in the tank was any of my concern....
Any ideas?
