Default Tenants Owe Over Four Months Rent

My father owns a three family house in the Bronx, New York. He is having a serious problem with the tenants from the first floor who have not paid rent in over four months. They use drugs, have loud parties and make life miserable for the rest of the tenants whom are threatening to vacate their apartments. This house if my father's only additional source of income b/c he does not make much from his regular day job, therefore, he cannot afford to sell the house at this time. The tenants who are failing to pay the rent have also failed to pay their Con Edison for the last few months. Because of this, my father cut their light off in the apartment and most recently one of the tenants claims he injured his foot in the apartment and is currently on cruches.

My father is anxious to get rid of these malicious tenants but is now in fear of being sued. Does anyone have an idea or know of an attorney that may be of some assistance?

Perhaps the New York City Bar's Lawyer Referral Service can provide a name.
