Hello. I have a question. My rental apartment have a monopoly with a company called Moonbeam. I don't know where the company is based out of but it is the worse. I asked to found out if I wanted to move what kind of notice do I need to give. The lady told me that I would have to be a 60 day notice and 2 months worth of rent plus I would have to pay the rest of the rental agreement if they can not find someone to lease the apartment to. Are they allowed to do that? I live in Florida and the apartments are income based (money given from the government.) I had cable with Moonbeam and in order to have the internet for my computer, I have to have the cable. I was not happy with the cable service because the person who installed it did not wrong so they cut off the cable because of no payment along with the internet which is okay with me. Are apartments allowed to have monopolies? What if the tenant does not want to companies that the apartments have, what can they do?
