    In what state has this occurred? Laws vary by state, and in some states (including CA) this MIGHT be a crime ... depending on the details.

    Depending on the details of the communication, and whether the involved parties believed you had the ability and intent to carry out the threat, this could be a felony (PC 422). However, it is doubtful that you would be charged with the felony without some proof of taking steps to move ahead with the threat, but it IS possible.
