Default Depicted as a Sexual Predator in Poster at Work, in Florida

The other day I was in a crowded elevator at work and a woman commented rather loudly that I was the sexual predator in a poster. Apparently there was a large poster the size of a cubicle wall featuring the Dateline news correspondent and a picture of me across from him. This was in the tech support area which has a lot of traffic and visibility. The looks from the rest of the people in the elevator were very disturbing, I explained to the woman that it must be some sort of joke. That evening and the next day I was very distraught thinking about how many people might think I was actually a sexual predator. I was sent home the next day after asking that it be removed, as it was obvious that I was upset about it. Apparently it had been on display for several months, I fear I may lose mu job as people now think I am a predator.

What can I do to protect myself from being fired, Florida is a right to work state so there is no need for cause for termination of employment? How could the company allow this to happen in the first place? This is almost a $1 billion company with almost 80 offices throughout the country.

Please provide a better explanation of the poster's origin, content, and why (beyond that one person's comments) you were so upset by it.

Florida is an "at will" state meaniong you can be terminated at anytime for any reason long as it does not violate discrimnation laws

This is an interesting story. Why was your photo on the wall at your office? Why would the company not remove a picture of you? Does the woman work for the same company? Did you advise your employers of what she said in the presence of so many people?

Has your employer indicated that your job is in jeopardy?
