    Default Changing My Child's Last Name

    I was wanting to know if its possible to change my sons last name when i get married to my new name? Right now he has his bio dads (we were never married) His dad never signed the birth certificate but i do receive child support but wouldnt mind giving that up if it means i can change his name...what should i do?

    Both parents need to consent to this.

    It's possible to adjudicate the issue, attempting to convince a court that the name change is in the child's best interest, but it's cheaper and much easier with consent. The procedure for litigating a name change will vary by state.
