Exclamation Woman Claims To Have Had Husband's Child, And Demands Money

Hello I got the dreaded phone call she said gave the details of name date and weight and that she wanted $500.00 a month. She is the woman my husband met and had a one night stand with while he was deployed. From his and her story it happened once and protection was used. My husband was honest from the beginning and our relationship was on the rocks. about 6 months age she called and said she was pregnant and he was the father. She said she took all options into consideration but decided to have the baby because the doctor said this may be her last chance to have a child due to something being wrong with her??? She said she want to make sure the baby was taken care of but does not want him in the baby's life. She is on the east coast and we are in Ca. We live check to check and we are scared to talk to her about long term goals. I am trying to be strong but I am truly feeling helpless. Please if someone knows or has incite Please Please Pleas advise!

At this point you don't even know that a child was born, let alone that it was your husband's child. I wouldn't send her money unless paternity is first legally established, and even then only in the amount of any court-ordered child support.

Legal advice for what purpose? If you wish to explore the possibility of establishing paternity, you would contact a lawyer licensed in Connecticut (where, assuming she's telling the truth, the child lives).

    In plain English.

Do not sign anything that she sends you. First thing you want to do before you sign any document/form is get a DNA test. They have home kits for a peace of mind, and dna tests that are admissible in court which cost a little more (I would suggest getting that test that will hold in court). Find yourself a reliable credible dna place and prepare for a lawyer. If the child turns up to be yours then take responsibility and don’t fight it

Trust me on this one. She may be trying to get you for your money and take you for a ride of your lifetime. I’m only saying this because you don’t want to go down the road years from now and turn around and realize this wasn’t your child all of these years, don’t get duked. The whole "this may have been her only and last time she can have kids" sounds like BS to me (pardon my french). She cannot make you pay anything right now because nothing was signed (AOP) saying that your husband is the father legally.

In a few weeks I will post my story
