16 is one thing. But as far as 17 goes. i've got a few questions out of curiosity. When a girl is 16 she's still a minor as far as the Ga laws are concerned. Although the age of majority is 18 in georgia. According to the ga code on charges such as child molestation, statutory rape, enticing a minor, lewd acts etc...
They all say the crimes are committed if the victim is under 16 years of age. Even the law that's about "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" says either "under 17 years of age, or under 18 years of age if the person is deprived".
So with that said, im' not saying that it's ok to go around and sleep with young girls. But as far as that goes. What specifically are people referring to when they talk about the accused having to register as a sex offender? or... its' not a good idea and etc...
