I could use some advise. back in 2000 I bought a vehicle. My mother was the co-buyer on the account. The motor blew up in 2002 and I called them up and told them to come get it, I wanted to do a voluntary repossession, so that after they auctioned it, i could just pay whatever they didnt get. The ladie told me "I dont know that they'll think it even worth it to come get it". Anyway, they never came and got it. The following year we sold our house, "as is", so the vehicle stayed there in the yard where it had been for a year. Well the new owners had it towed away, since then i've recieve maybe a letter a year regarding the vehicle, nothing more, no phone calls, nothing. Well for the past week they've been calling nonstop and threatening to garnish wages and take houses to get the money. Now they want $11,000 for it (thats including fees and such). Or I can pay half by the 15th, and if I dont pay half by the 15th then I have no more chances to pay half, theyll do what they can to get the full 11,000. They said that its because its so delinquent. I told them that its not MY fault its that delinquent, I was waiting on them to come get it to auction it and they never did. And its been 5 years. Is there anything i can do?? This just doesnt seem fair.![]()
