Default Bond revoked due to lawyer's mistake

We are new to anything criminal and we also hired an attorney that was our computer client and she had money owed to us, so we thought great! We have a good head start on nipping this in the bud. We realy believed with all of our evidence that we would be done on the first court date, Anyway We found out our attorney was very new and We began to notice that she was not moving foward with our case and We were concerned about some mistakes she made and We ask her if it was possible to hire another lawyer and she said yes and that she believed we might quilify for a public defender for the criminal case only, she told us how it worked and said she would submit her dismissal and recomendation for a public defender, We thanked her and she called the next week and said to meet her in court on friday for a dismissal hearing, and she told us wrong and we all showed up on friday but we were supposed to be there wednesday!!! She later told us to show up at our regular court date and the judge would dismiss her that day and reset the court date and that he did after he said He was revoking bond for not cooperating with our attorney. I thought I was going to throw up in the court room. I left while my attorney was yelling down the hall that all this was standard operating proceedure, He went to jail Thursday the 4th and I am lost, I feel like I am trying to get in touch with God, no one will see me and I am scared for our business our kids, my home, please help...

    Default Bond Revoked

You need to consult a different attorney.

Your husband may wish to consider filing a complaint against the lawyer with the state bar.

    Default Husbands bond revoked.....

Thank you for the advise and we have a public defender now, although we havent met him or her yet. I just wanted to know if there were any other options to get him out asap. I do not know how to run our business and not sure how long I can pretend to hold things together. I am glad to have figured out how to get on this sight. Even though I am a stranger, I appreciate the advise, Thankyou. Tina

    Default Public Defender

Your public defender will probably try to get a bond restored, if you explain the circumstances and ask that he or she bring a petition.

    Default He is back home!!!!

Thankyou, sooooo much. We are together again and you were right
the public defender went after it. Yeah!! However we are at a loss about the civil case. The judge would not release our x-attorney from the civil case and when we showed the documents to the judge that she was not cooperating with us, he did let her go yesterday!! We are on our own and too afraid to ask for an extention on the court date for fear of going to jail again. Our court date is for the 24th of this month. NEXT WEEK!! We have tons of proof that the woman who is sueing has lied over and over, but we are new to all of this. Do we just show up on our own and answer questions or what? We have witnesses and we need to bring in an officer and the fire chief, but how in such a short time??
If anybody can help we will be eternally grateful. Thank you

    Default Civil Case

What you would have to do for the civil case depends upon the type of hearing that is scheduled. Even moreso if the defendant is represented by counsel, you should very much consider obtaining assistance from a new lawyer.
