Default How Long Does A Prosecution Take

How long does a retail fraud case normally take. I was caught yesterday and I am 20 don't have anything on my record. I am going to school at the end of August can this be taken care of before than?

Do you mean, including completion of your sentence? Misdemeanor prosecutions tend to proceed pretty quickly, particularly if they are resolved by a plea instead of a trial. If you mean completing your sentence and being off probation, you may be able to take care of it by then, but that depends upon the sentence the court issues. Due to differences n law, court procedure, and court docket congestion, timing will vary by court and state.

I suggest consulting a local criminal defense lawyer to see if there are any possible dispositions which would permit you to avoid a criminal conviction, and to try to work out a deal which will not interfere with your college plans.
