My fiance recently found out he is the father of a 5 year old girl. His daughters mother didnt know who the father was and the birth certificate was signed someone else. 5 years later she tells him that she believes her daughter is his and they have a DNA test done that proves he is the father. Now here is the issue, she is very demanding and if she doesnt get her way she begins to threaten to take him to court for child support. My question is being that the birth certificate was signed by someone else, can she? I personally believe that she still receives child support from the man that believed this was his daughter, does it make a difference if she is either way? My fiance and I live in NY, his daughter was born in NY, raised in Florida and they are about to move back to NY. Also, he and his daughters mother were never married nor was she married to the man that signed the BC. HELP!
