Hello.
I’m looking for some advice; or ideas on how to keep my wife from being deported.
I am a Born and breed US citizen with no criminal history.
My Wife (Chinese) came to the US 7 years ago on a School Visa.
My wife always handled the immigration stuff, so I’m not very clear on what I’m about to talk about, so please bear with me.
About 1.5 years ago we got married and got some sort of temporary residency status for her. After 2 years we are supposed to have a meeting of some sort with the INS, then after 3 years she is supposed to get some sort of permanent status as my wife in the US.
Now, here’s the bad part. She has been federally inditted for a Class C felony and her lawyer says they will deport her if she is convicted. I can’t afford to bail her out, so we probably won’t be able to go to the 2 year meeting either.
What are my chances of keeping my wife here in the U.S? Or what do I have to do to make that happen?
I'm not fond of the idea of moving to China to be with her, but I will if I have no choice...
Thank you all for any advice.
