Interstate Emancipation

I've posted a past thread but now im a little unsure of how it works. I've talked to officers and they say i'm on the right track. But I'm not sure of if my mom(in alaska) has to physically be in court (im in nc). I have a job and i'm renting from my dads g/f( he is in prison). I'm jsut wondering how to go about this considering that she will not but a ticket to fly to nc....and I have no idea if she physically has to appear. Any info is greatly appreciated...

Where is your "legal" residence? Your emancipation must be petitioned in State you reside in legally! then those States emancipation laws apply.

I know about what "I" have to do but what I am asking is about my mom. I have the petition in nc. She is in alaska. Does she have to physically be in court in nc?

What does NC statute say about it?

The statute is set forth in this thread. It does not indicate that a parent must appear in court.
