Emancipation Information

hello im trying to get some information about emancipation.

my friend wants to become emancipated but she is worried that her case wont hold up in court so i was wondering if you could tell me if she even had a chance.

here are the reasons she wants to leave

1.her parents are constantly fighting with her and each other.
2.her father keeps tellign her she is worthless and a wh*re
3.threating to hit her

here are what she is doing because of reasons

1.cutting
2.thinking about running away from home
3.contiplating suicide

please respond asap as this is very urgent

Why she want to leave doesn't matter...If she is eligible to be emancipated is what matters.
She is not eligible.

She should talk to her school counselor for help and guidance...They will be able to help her.

Does she have a job?
How old is she?

Two important questions. the other is the "cutting" if she is is self inflicting injury upon herself its very doubtful a judge will feel she is in a emotional state to be emancipated and manage her own affairs.

Your friend needs help badly, but emancipation is not the answer, nor would she qualify for emancipation based on what you've said. Even if she otherwise qualified, which she does not, there is no way a judge would emancipate a minor who is so emotionally troubled that she is cutting/suicidal. None of her three solutions are good ones. If she refuses to talk to a school counselor, you do it. Or to your parents, or a pastor, or a teacher, or some other adult you trust. This is a bigger problem than either you or your friend can deal with on your own. Please talk to someone and come back and tell us what happens.
