i recieved a misdemeanor today for retail theft. I am 17 but turning 18 in 2 weeks. it says that my parents need to appear at court. do they still have to go if my court date is after i turn 18? or do they because it was issued when i was a minor?

Check with court but I would say yes because you committed crime as a minor and are appearing minor court. This is good however since most minor records are sealed once you become an adult
So what happens if something really bad happened a little earlier that day, and I was really upset, so without thinking, I did retail theft....then that night that incident just added on to my depression and I got an MIC for blwing a .038? what exactly should I do? my parents aren't very knowledgeable when it comes to the legal system, and so I have to find out what my best bet is on my own, although that should be my responsibility in the firist place. But anyway, I am really scared. I am not a bad kid, I mean I am in leadership student council, and i play sports. my parents never would have guessed I would do something like this. and I dont know how to tell them. i don't know if i should get a lawyer or WHAT to do. please please if you are reading this please respond...!
thanks
One should never face criminal charges without a lawyer!
