Can I Enter Tenants Premesis when Tenant is Not There

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: TN
How much notice is required to enter the home of a tenant with a contractor to inspect water damage to the ceiling, for repair?

After sufficient notice, can I insist on entering the house regardless of if the tenant is there? Because he'll tell me I can't enter if he's not there, then he'll arrange to never be there

The lease does not address entry. The TN code does not address how much notice needed when I need to enter to access property damage due to roof leak, or if tenant needs to be present

It appears you may have asked this same question on another forum.

Typically 24 hour notice is a reasonable amount of time if the repair situation is not an emergency. In an emergency situation (think water pouring from broken pipe as an example) immediate entrance to address the issue is certainly reasonable.

Once notice has been provided there is nothing that says a tenant has to be present at the time of entry. It's nice if they want to be there but sometimes their work schedule will conflict with the work schedule of your contractor.
