    You can do either.

    I've seen many checking accounts in the name of a trust.

    Even the trust's bank account can designate a beneficiary.

    Rather than tag a question onto someone else's thread, please start your own thread and include some facts that are relevant to your question. That said, one does not have to do anything when it comes to wills, trusts, etc.
