Your analogy is not "apt" because the dealership is the last place to take a transmission problem. Asking others for a better referral is exactly would that motorist should be doing to avoid getting ripped off by a dealership.
Replace "dealership" with "professional transmission repair shop" if you'd like.

Placing all your trust in a couple lawyers...or a dealership mechanic, could be foolish.

I recently trusted two lawyers and got ripped off by both of them.
Interestingly, I have NEVER had a negative experience with an attorney working for me. Your bitterness and bias shows through in every post you make.

    Attention Readers,

Harold99 posts for no other reason than to take shots at senior members of the forum and lawyers in general. *It would be wise to ignore whatever he writes. While the person posting under the name of Harold99 has been banned from this site at least 3 times but, due to the current lack of moderation, he isn’t being banned. Hopefully, that will change in the future but for now, we have to live with it.

For now, I suggest you simply ignore his posts but if you do read them please read any responses posted by the more rational members.

Go ahead and replace it, makes no difference. Asking for varied opinions is always better than not. Especially when they call themselves a professional.

Interestingly, I have NEVER had a negative experience with an attorney working for me.
That's because they were working for you and you likely didn't know any better. You ever have one come after you, your freedom or your money?

I’ve monitored this forum for several months, and personally would not be in favor of censoring people for simply expressing opinions clearly based on non-lawyer points of view. Since most posters are not attorneys, I believe that a certain amount of less-than-legal content is normal for this type of forum and should be ok as long as the terms of use are not violated. In this thread the OP is clearly soliciting all types of opinions.

For the most part I don’t mind Harold and sometimes even agree with him, particularly when he objects to the tone used by some regular posters. Interestingly there are non-attorneys here who seem to rather enjoy the power trip of being mistaken for real attorneys, and also tend to be the ones more likely to make personal attacks against new people who venture in.

By the way if personal shots are not ok in a forum where non-professionals are welcome, why are personal shots ok for presidential candidates? Maybe they should get banned.

    OTB,
Though I never ask or rely on anyone to agree with me here, I appreciate you voicing your opinion. Thank You.

    Payrolguy,
I believe this post is directed at you and your incessant desire to mute me. I believe OTB deserves a response.

    Follow-up:
It has been about 20 hours now and Payrolguy will not come back and explain his attacks on me. He seems to be OK with breaking forum rules by stalking and harassing on this website. Also, by trying to keep certain opinions from being expressed here.

Follow the forum rules Payrolguy, or go somewhere else.

My goodness. I wasn't asking for a "mostly peaceful debate" on the subject of who should/should not be allowed to post. I was asking for any outside-of-the box thoughts and/or suggestions that anyone might have as to the situation I described.

My purpose here was to help an elderly plaintiff who is clearly being abused by an out-of-state defendant who is using the court system to delay punishment for clear violations of a TRO.

I was hoping that some fresh minds or opinions might spawn a useful idea that had not yet been considered. I won't quote the source (so as to avoid a debate on the author's character), but it has been said 'that it is best to put ALL of the options on the table, no matter how outlandish they may be, and then sift through and discard those deemed to be useless....because at least you will then considered ALL of the options'.

If you are not an attorney, then you are really in no position to be offering advice on legal matters to others. Depending on the depth of your involvement, you may actually be committing a crime by doing so.

Are you directing this post to the 95% of Expert Law senior members who are not attorneys yet still post legal opinion/advice here?

What people receive here is not "legal advice". What the OP is doing (or, at least, contemplating) may, in fact, violate his state's law.

Like it or not...it is what it is.

    You are FOS!

If you come here because you enjoy scaring naive people over their legal issues, you'll find company and support here...being that there are about five other guys who come here for that same reason.
