My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: MO

I am very recently divorced. My ex-husband and I owned a business. He is a physician and I ran the medical practice. Shortly after i filed for divorce he changed the locks and changed all of my passwords and hired someone else to do my job. It wasn't safe for me to fight for my job and now that we are divorced I am (and have been unemployed since that incident). Can I file for unemployment? Nothing seems to fit my description to receive unemployment and I don't know where to start.
Thank you
You can always file for unemployment. It's free and nothing prevents you from filing. It is up to the state once you file to decide whether you are entitled to benefits. The worst thing that can happen (as long as you are truthful in your application) is that you get turned down for benefits, in which case you are no worse off than you are now.
