Are you saying that the hotel chose to waive room charges for other guests and give those other guests free meals because you and your boyfriend acted like idiots? If so, no, that's not something for which you could be held legally liable.
I'd want to know how long the fight went on and how many noise complaints were made to the front desk before making any guesses as to how this would play in court.

It's my guess that the hotel wouldn't have been comping anything unless it was a major fracas...enough to actually scare people.

In addition, the mirror was in their room, not in the hallway.
Ummm...it's one thing to make assumptions, but assuming things that are directly contrary to what the OP has written is none too smart:

You could have just said post number 6. It wasn't necessary to link it.

Just understand that I wasn't expecting you to go to the extra effort. The post number would have been fine.

My thought exactly. And I'm speaking from eight years of experience with a night job on a hotel desk.

I think comping the meals is going a bit far. Should this get to a lawsuit, I would expect the meals to be thrown out. But depending on details we do not have, I don't think the hotel charging the OP for the comped rooms is completely off the table.

And there's nothing whatsoever illegal about the hotel making the attempt.
