My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Calif
I received a traffic ticket and on the ticket, the officer presumably knowing his vehicles, wrote the wrong make and model. My vehicle is a GMC truck but he wrote Chevrolet Silverado. Well on my registration papers it states "GMC Sierra".
Isn't that nullify the ticket?

Of course not. Do you really think that the laws distinguish between makes and models of vehicles?

What often happens is that you will point out the error on the citation in court. The hearing officer will ask the officer if he wishes to amend the citation at that time to correct the error. The officer will say "yes," the error will be corrected, your concerns will have been addressed and life will go on. No harm, no foul.

So I'm contesting this ticket for other reasons, but in my written declaration, as one of the bullet points, or in a court of law, I would not be committing perjury, if I stated, no, I am not guilty, based on the evidence provided on the ticket that was issued on such n such a day, defendant was not speeding in a Chevy Silverado. I cannot be held liable for the officers negligence for his inaccuracies in documenting a traffic Citation, especially when they have all of the information provided in the documentation requested from the vehicle operator. First thing asked when pulled over, "May I see your driver's license, vehicle registration & proof of insurance?".

If he makes a mistake of consequence in his actual testimony, you're free to work from that.
