You don't need his signature or need him to show up in court to get divorced. It is a little more complicated (it becomes a contested divorce) without his signature, but you do not need it.

While most divorces resolve by way of settlement, a divorce is a litigation. Your spouse doesn't have to cooperate with anything, and it's likely that there will never be a time where he has to "show up to court."

If you're trying to handle the case without an attorney and don't know what you're doing, then you're going to need to learn what to do (which you can't accomplish with message board posts) or hire an attorney.
