    Default Trespass

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Iowa

After committing a variety of offenses, a tenant was evicted. He then moved in with another tenant on the same property.
The agency who sent him said he'd been 'given a no trespass on the property,' BUT as the other tenant allowed him to move in nothing could be done about it and he would not be removed.

Can anyone make sense of this?

    What "agency" sent him?

    Who issued the trespass warning?

Who said nothing could be done?

The agency is called Anawim. They help homeless people obtain apartments. The no trespass was issued by the agency, and one of their staff members said nothing could be done.

I can see why, I don't see how some random non-government agency can issue a no-trespass warning for a property that isn't theirs.

Who are you in all of this?

I'm one of the long-time tenants. While individuals sent from the agency have been wreaking all kinds of havoc, this specific individual has caused ongoing complications by repeatedly vandalizing the laundry room. He and the guy he moved in with have both been gone a long time, but landlords stopped doing repairs because they figured he'd come back.

I agree with what you said- seems the landlords should have the legal right/authority to keep him off the property, but they don't seem to think they can.

The landlord can and chooses not to. I would suggest you start looking for a new place to live.
