    Question Visitation with Non-Married Parents

Florida: Parents of one-year-old are not married. Father is on birth certificate but no court hearing to date. Father had child 1/2 time until mother got upset because he does not want to be with the mother. She will not let him have her now. Does he not have a right to pick up the child as long as he returns her?

Default Re: Visitation with Non-Married Parents

Father should initiate court proceedings to formalize his custody and visitation rights, and should try to get a temporary order formalizing the "status quo" that existed prior to the mother's getting angry and cutting of visitation.
