Won Without Court

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: IL

So recently posted landlord was being mean. The apartment was dirty, bed bugs infested and strong musty odor in apartment prior to move in. She didn't give my partial rent back.

Good News- is I complained to so many places online and to State and local government , that she finally gave in to paying me back just last week a check came in the mail. She kept like $20 or so.

Sometimes you win without court!

That just goes to prove that there is some goodness amidst all the badness.

Then again it might not be all that virtuous were the landlord mindful of the following sentiment:
