My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: New York
this is my first time using any forum, hopefully i am doing this correctly.
Situation, Repairs on my vehicle are going to take way too long.
Details:
Purchased a new HD Truck (3500) 6 months ago.
Last week I hit something in the road that damaged my oil pan and before i knew it, killed the motor (i know it sounds strange already - i would of thought that it would shut down before damaging the motor, but....)
I filed an insurance claim with my auto policy and had the truck towed to the dealership where i purchased it.
The dealership is telling me that i need a new motor and that they can not get any right now.
Furthermore , they say it will be at least 3 months before they can get a motor.
I obviously can not be without a vehicle for a minimum of 3 months and i do not have rental coverage on my auto policy. What if it takes longer? a year, maybe more ?? There must be some limit as to how long the dealership / manufacturer (RAM) can delay these repairs.
What are my options??
