    Default Felon Landlord

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Missouri
Our landlord was just arrested on felony charges... against a child. Long story short, we're uncomfortable with the news. We still have about 5 months left on our lease. Does anyone know if we can legally break our lease, due to the circumstances? I know we can, if we "pay the fine." But we wanted to know if there was a way that we're could break it without having to pay to break it, AND still get our deposit back?? TIA

Nothing in the landlord tenant statute allows you to break the lease without penalty.
