How Long Does It Take Nics to Update Information

I recently moved states and was wondering how long it takes NICS to update state and address information for the purchase of a firearm

That's not how NICS works. NICS takes your full name, DOB, POB, SSN (if you give it), sex, race, ethnicity, citizenship, and driving license number to attempt to match you against a compiled list of prohibited persons. Your residence address is not given, only state of residence.

Which state? In some states FFL's don't call NICS, they contact a state system to run the background check.

Yep, it's up to the FFA or whoever is selling/transferring the gun to you to make sure you are a resident of the state he is in (if it's a handgun), and that your IDs match up. After that, they do a background check that doesn't much care (NICS or an equivalent state check).
