[Background - shoplifting arrest] also i didnt get any paperwork in the mail so does that mean that if i apply for a job now, its not in their system yet....or do they instantly put these things into the system or it takes time
I am not sure how long it takes to enter your name. and what i mean by some degree... different companies and different jobs within a company do different depth on background checks. Just apply and hope you are not found to have this on your record.
The chances that an employer will do a background check before deciding whom to interview is zero. No one has the time and resources to to that. Employers decide whom to interview, interview them, make their first choice (possibly up to top three choices) and THEN do background checks.
Although I don't know what difference it makes. They're gonna find the same things whether they do it before interviewing or after. If what they find there is going to disqualify you, it's going to disqualify you after interview as well as before.
