Pennsylvania- Retail Theft Criminal Attempt
Apparently my sister was attempting to walk out of the store with items in her cart that were not paid for. The greeter stopped her while she was in the store and asked to see a receipt. I guess she played around in her purse looking and then said maybe it was in her car. So she went outside. Soon after she got in the car and drove away the police stopped her. She has been in jail for almost a week and she will be in jail for atleast 30 more days while waiting for a gagnon hearing.
She has a previous misdemeanor and, I believe, a felony charge for retail theft. She is on probation.
Considering her previous charges what can she expect for attempting to shoplift? Is attempting to shoplift an actual crime?
* Sorry to post here but I have been googling and attempted shoplifting must not be a hot known topic.
