    Florida is the state, I didn't get the title because he lost it before he register it in his name.
    Check out the following search results. There appear to be some hints as to where you will find a second VIN on the bike.

    If you can find it and confirm that it's the proper VIN, Florida does allow for a bonded title:

    If you can't resolve this you may have to junk the bike.

    The lesson: NEVER buy a vehicle without title in hand. And always verify that the seller is the name on the title.

    Not arguing with ya but simply pointing out;

    if the vin has already been researched and it does match some model of Acura, I doubt the op will be able to convince anybody the vin on the bike is correct. While there are sometimes vin found in more than one place, even if they all match, that vin still is associated with an Acura. It would likely mean nothing more than the thief was thorough.

    Im actually a bit surprised the police weren’t more interested in the situation. Given it is a crime to alter the vin on a motor vehicle, the fact the vin doesn’t correlate with a Honda Goldwing, it is prime facia evidence of a crime. I’m surprised the motorcycle wasn’t confiscated as it is evidence of that crime.
