Default What is the Legal Consequence for Refusing Vaccination in Maine

My question involves public health law in the State of: Maine

I read that vaccinations are mandatory in Maine. What happens if one refuses them? Jail time, fines, electric chair? What exactly is the penalty for refusal? I read that one cannot opt out of vaccines for philosophical or religious reasons. And also does this simply refer to requirements for schools or everyone in the state?

Default Re: Is It Illegal to Refuse Vaccination in Maine

The law only is for school children and the penalty is that they won't be allowed in school. That may lead to the parents being charged under the states mandatory school attendance laws.

The law has been in place for years. This upstate of the law removes the non-medical reasons that allowed one to opt out of vaccines.
