My husband has been with the same company for 10 years. The last 4 years the company has been struggling fiancially. 3 days before he was to get his monthly salary paycheck in June, the owner tells him everyone is only getting half their pay for June. He wasn't informed until yesterday that there would be no paycheck for July. So 1/2 a paycheck for June, no paycheck for July.
1. How is this legal?
2. Why hasn't he been 'laid off'?
3. He has 2 offer letters on the way from other companies. If he resigns from his present company and takes another job, does the company have an obligation to give his back pay?
4. He is also owed back travel expenses. Will these be paid when he resigns?
