    Default Administrative costs

I filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1997. My father died 3 weeks later and 9 mos later I received $12K inheritance. The trustee filed an adversary because i didnt hand it over. The inheritance came after I received thed the discharge paperwork. I didnt think I needed to ask anyone if I could spend it as the trustee originally tolfd me it wouldnt be attached if I did get an inheritance. Long story short, My husbands wages were garnished for two years to repay it to estate, to pay creditors. It took alot of doing without alot of things, like eating, ugh, but now that its paid, I ask who was paid (of creditors) and I find all of it went to Administrative costs. Now that just plain stinks. I have 20 days to respondwith an objection and I am so mad I cant think. NO we didnt have a lawyer....only a service that filed the paperwork for us.

    Default Administrative Costs

I would love to have the advice of a lawyer. But lawyers cost money. Although I'm sure there are some ot there, good luck trying to find one who will do it pro bono. The Trustee, the trustee's lawyer, the Judge...All could care less how we have been affected. Courts do as they deem just, and its not all in the name of justice. I now have 8 days to file an objection and even if I object the Judge could resolve that with a final non-appealable order of some sort, and continue like I (again) don't matter. (DEEP BREATH) Anyway. Thanks for the response, I appreciate your time.

    Default "Lawyers Cost Money"

It is easy to protest that "lawyers cost money", but take note of this: Had you used a lawyer before, you would not be in your present situation. Sometimes you have to pay some money to save a lot more money or to avoid a great deal of trouble.
