what do you think about the fact the government lien (which should be senior to the deed of trust from Lender X) has not been paid off??...That should've happened during the foreclosure process correct?
..Who would I be able to call and find out WHEN the foreclosure auction occurred exactly??...As I mentioned, I was prepared to go and it was suddenly "cancelled" the day before.

Nope, it's the purchaser's job to pay off the tax liens. They likely will not do that while the redemption period is in effect. Try visiting the county land records office. There should be a "sheriff's deed" recorded

what is the redemption period, and how long does it last?

the amounts available to pay off liens and judgments during foreclosure are only drawn from the Lender X amount they're foreclosing for right?..not the amount Lender X subsequently sells the property for? or have I got that wrong?

so, the county says their lien on the property which arose from a code violation has been wiped out in the foreclosure...does this make sense?
...I thought senior liens can't be wiped out liked that?!
