Okay.... So for all of the lecturing in the thread, it sounds like the actual issue here is that this was an overseas casino, and thus that credit card companies are prohibited from processing transactions to pay for gambling with the casino. Unlawful casinos frequently charge their customers through what appear to be legitimate businesses in order to avoid having credit card companies reject their charges. That doesn't render the charge legitimate -- it's an attempt to trick the credit card company into making a payment that is prohibited by law. If you do make a timely and successful challenge to a transaction, then even though you did gamble through the illegal casino the credit card company will attempt to invalidate the transactions and recover the money.
But... if the credit card customer is not timely with the dispute, or cannot establish that the charges made through the third party businesses were not legitimate, it is possible for the credit card company to uphold the charges as valid.
I don't know that it will accomplish much, but it is possible to file a complaint about a credit card company with the Department of the Treasury.
. Instead of doing all at once, I began with 25 transactions with total over $1,600. During the process I mentioned the merchants showed up on my account are unfamiliar and they are not the one that I associated with. My documents ( declaration of Fraud) that I sent in have been denied 3 times. Yet the investigation still on going.
April 23rd, I called them to ask about the process, but this time.
Please do not necropost drivel.
