My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: washington

My dad was recently shot twice in the head while driving home, the guy then stole his car and ran into another car, killing the other driver as well.

How much can you sue for in this situation? What is the cheapest way to find out how much money this guy has? The killer is in police custody.

I'm very sorry about your father. But, generally, people that randomly shoot people and steal their cars don't have a lot of cash or property. And likely never will because they will spend the majority or hopefully the rest of their life in prison.

That may not be the case here. The suspect was a manager at MSFT up until the last year or two. He probably went thru all his money after he quit MSFT and went off the rails, but you never know.

That is really horrible. If he has some money now he won't after his lawyer finish trying to defend him. But it is worth a try to sue given this isn't a run of the mill carjacking and murder.

The paper stated that he was a contracted employee for Microsoft, where did you read that he was a manager?

I hope you are receiving grief counseling. Your anger is understandable. No amount of money will bring your father back. Nor will it replace your anger. Provided you are awarded a,settlement and able to collect it. Being awarded a settlement does not always mean you are able to collect. Do you have the money for a attorney fees and court costs ? Can you afford to miss work ?

How old are you ? Do you have brothers and sisters ?
