AFAIK states are not (yet) reporting lists of MMJ card holders to NICS, but that doesn't mean the feds won't mandate it in the future.

PA SP has already said that you can't have both a LTC and a state MMJ card. https://www.psp.pa.gov/firearms-info...formation.aspx
BUT when filing the federal forms involved in the activities it does ask if one illegally uses drugs. One must answer affirmatively or understand they are lying on those documents.

And whether the states report mm cards or not doesn’t change the fact: using marijuana and possessing a gun is a federal offense. It doesn’t make it not a crime if one doesn’t get caught as chunky77 was suggesting.

The federal statute is quite clear: an unlawful user of any controlled substance who also possesses any firearm or firearm ammunition at the same time commits a federal felony offense. So the OP cannot do both at the same time, and hence the choice he/she must make.

Oh I understand that. Quite a few people do not. Some of them have tried to use their MMJ cards as ID when buying a gun from a dealer.

    Nope, not joking.
