    Default Dating in Florida

I've read other threads, the statutes, etc. I just wanted to get an answer specific to my situation. I'm a girl interested in a guy 1-1/2 years younger than me. We're both very against sex before marriage, so that's not going to be a problem. I just want to make sure it won't be illegal to date him when I turn 18.

    Standard answer:

If you have to ask if it is legal, it's a bad idea.

That said, there are no laws that pertain to DATING. Until he is 18 and fully self supporting, his parents have control over who he may or may not associate with, whether the relationship is legal or not.

if when you turn 18, he is already 16, you're fine.
