Collision vs. Comprehensive Coverage for a Parking Lot Accident

My car was recently hit in a parking lot when I was away from it. It was a no-fault comprehensive claim. Why wasn't it covered by collision insurance?

You were not at fault and your insurance company didn't surcharge your policy for it but if your car was hit by another car, it's collision. Hey, don't take my word for it, call your adjuster. Post something in writing from him on his company letterhead that it was a comprehensive claim and I will profusely apologize and bow to your superior intellect.
