Default Shoplifting At Walmart; No Notices Received

hi im 17 years old and i was caught with shoplifting. i took a item that was 35.00. they stoped me at the door and they said give it up. so i cooperated with then and gave up the item. then they took me into a room and got my info and made me sign a paper saying that i did infact take the item. i foolishy signed it. then they called my mom in and told her. then they said that they will send this info to their lawers and they will charge me with a fine. then the sent me home and said that i may never step into wallmart ever again. it has been more then a month already and i havnt received a phone call or any letters yet. what should i do right now. is there any chance that they "forgot" this or they decided not to do anything to me. i really hope that they forgot or this case wasnt importaint enough to do. so please help me with this. i great thank you guys for reading this and taking you time to help me.

This sounds as if it is only a civil fine that you will be receiving.

So when you get the civil fine letter, make arrangements to pay it.

Were the police involved or did they say they were prosecuting you criminally?

The Civil Demand can take months in some cases depending on the issuing company or Law Firm

The police were not involved. I'm not sure if they're prosicuting me criminally but they said it wont go on my record or anything. According to your knowledge, how much do you think the fine will be? Thank you for taking your time to help me. I really appreciate it.

If Police were not called its very unlikely charges are being filed. the Civil demand amounts vary but it should be (no gurantee) around $300.00
