Default How to Give Notice to Quit a Tenancy in Connecticut

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Connecticut

Wondering if this is sufficient wording for CT form. So far, relative is not being cooperative and I have concerns that he will not vacate the property.

From the form: "You must quit....for the following reason(s) (specify):"

"Termination of month to month tenancy.

Named occupant is a relative of the property owner and has enjoyed the use of premises without paying rent. There is no lease agreement. Owner verbally notified occupant on November 17, 2018 of intent to sell property and requested occupant vacate the premises by January 1, 2019.

Occupant is requested to vacate property, including the removal of all personal possessions. Owner reserves the right to charge occupant for any and all damages to property caused by the occupant's abuse or neglect."

Your oral notice doesn't count because the termination notice has to be in writing.

Are you not the owner of the property? Are you the agent for the owner? You're referring to somebody other than yourself in that notice.

Just kidding. You're using the third person because it looks more legalese. Don't.

Use the wording suggested in the statute:

    (b) The notice shall be in writing substantially in the following form: “I (or we) hereby give you notice that you are to quit possession or occupancy of the (land, building, apartment or dwelling unit, or of any trailer or any land upon which a trailer is used or stands, as the case may be), now occupied by you at (here insert the address, including apartment number or other designation, as applicable), on or before the (here insert the date) for the following reason (here insert the reason or reasons for the notice to quit possession or occupancy using the statutory language or words of similar import, also the date and place of signing notice).

    Thank you!

So the reason would be end of month to month tenancy, if I understand things correctly.

    That would work.

    Or:

I want to sell the house and don't want you living in it anymore.
