Default Leaving the Scene After a Drunk Driving Accident

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Indiana
I knocked down a pole in my neighborhood where my car was stuck and left the scene. Cops have been coming to my house every other hour. It is day 2 and I'm wondering if I could lie and make up a story where I was not in the car that it was stolen. No witnesses were around. Is it possible for me to do this and avoid the charges and consequences. It's just I'm feeling with many other things and with this on my plate could be the end

Making up stories will not get you off the hook, in fact, you're likely sealing your fate every time you open your mouth. REMAIN SILENT. Get an attorney.

I will get an attorney. But to the attorney do I tell him the truth or remain partially silent as well

You tell your attorney the ENTIRE unvarnished truth.
