No matter what the law in Colorado is or in your own state, it's illegal to possess in Indiana and it's illegal to transport across state lines in ANY situation. The information on the ticket isn't testimony nor much relevance. It's for identification purposes. If the boyfriend had constructive possession of the drugs, he can be charged as well, whether or not he was cited at the time. Of course, if they didn't cite him, they likely don't know who he is at this point, so it would be hard to argue (unless you got up and ratted him out).
Drug trafficking is a BIG thing. What makes you think they're just going to forget it? What you should do is contact an attorney near where you were cited and ask for their assistance.
If they find you have any drug priors, they can elevate this to a felony. As it is you are looking at a $5000 fine and a year in jail.
