My question involves criminal law for the state of:
Indiana

About a month ago, my boyfriend and I got pulled over on our way home from CO. He was driving, and the rental car was in his name. We were stopped in Indiana, and the car was searched.

They found Marijuana that we were bringing home with us. I have really bad anxiety, and the whole point of the trip was to bring home regulated Marijuana to help with anxiety attacks. I live in a state where it's legal medically, but there aren't any dispensaries yet. I explained this to the officer, he believed us, and told us that he would help us out.

I claimed all of the Marijuana as my own (over 30g) because my boyfriend has a lot more to lose than I do. He received a warning for following the truck in front of us too closely (which is technically the reason we were stopped) and I received a ticket for possession of Marijuana. Code 35-48-4-11(a)(2). He marked me as the driver and a male, although I was the passenger and a female. Will this make a difference? If I dispute this, will my boyfriend get into trouble?

He sent us on our way, and said to look out for a letter from the court. He also said that there's a chance that they will throw it out because it happened in Indianapolis and they have bigger things to worry about.

It's been a month and a couple days, and I haven't received any letter. I really don't know what to do, as I've never been in any sort of trouble before. I have very little money, basically no money.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
