Do you know how your names were listed on the title?
Were your names on title as "Husband Smith and Wife Smith" or "Husband Smith or Wife Smith"?
Did she sign only her name on the title transfer, or did she also sign your name?
Whether or not she should have, she apparently did sell the vehicle. This was either an issue you addressed when later pursuing legal separation, or an issue you chose not to address at that time. If it was addressed, you know how the issue was resolved. If it was not, your choice not to address the issue at the time may foreclose additional remedies; you would need to share some facts.
